3ds London Wednesday 1st May

Wednesday 1st May
For 7pm
Upstairs at The Plough, 27 Museum Street, WC1A
Hello everyone,

Next Wednesday, long-time attendee Thomas Horsley from Flowstorm ltd will be here to present some of their recent animation projects. Thomas' presentation will focus on one project that used Chaos Group's Phoenix FD to create fluid simulations. He'll talk us through the project from storyboard, through previs to final production- with some useful tips when using this application and a sneak peak at some future work.

There was some very cool work presented last month, with hopefully some breakdowns to come at a later event, so more of the same please! If you have an entry for the March Forest Pack Pro competition the deadline was extended to next Wednesday too.

3ds London Wednesday 3rd April

Wednesday 3rd April
For 7pm
Upstairs at The Plough, 27 Museum Street, WC1A
Hello everyone,

Tomorrow evening is 3ds London at The Plough- This month I'm afraid our scheduled speaker had to pull out for an entirely understandable reason at the last minute- these things happen. So, as mentioned last month, I'd like some of you to bring along some work to share with everyone. If you haven't presented before, now's your chance to be a hero and bring something along. Don't worry about preparing anything, you just need to chat about it for a few minutes. Come on!

Talking of heroes, Sol Rogers from RewindFX has kindly agreed to get things started by bringing along a recent project to share. Sol is our Social Media Guru and all round talented / nice bloke. Cheers Sol! He can't change his mind now.

Did you prepare something for the Itoo competition last month? Bring it along!

Bring something along to show everyone! If you think you've got something interesting to share perhaps you could let me know so I can let everyone know, but feel free to just show up with something awesome. Remember, details posted at www.3dslondon.co.uk and on Twitter, follow @3dslondon.

See you there, Simon

Arqui9 & Itoo @3dsLondon Wednesday 6th March

Wednesday 6th March
For 7pm
Upstairs at The Plough, 27 Museum Street, WC1A

Hello everyone,
Next Wednesday we're back at The Plough for 3ds London. First, Pedro Fernandes, a London-based architect, is going to show us some of his recent work. Pedro showed me some of his matte paintings last year- I thought they were great so I'm glad he's agreed to do a presentation for us. Check out his site first, http://www.arqui9.com/.

Then Paul Roberts, an editor at Max Underground amongst other things, is going to present a general introduction to Forest Pack Pro 4 on behalf of Itoo Software. Paul is also going to highlight some of the new features in the recently released version 4 so that there's something for existing users. After the presentation, Itoo would like to set a competition for 3ds London members, using the free lite version of the plugin. The winner will be judged the following month and receive a full pro license of the plugin.Itoo ran a similar competition at the South Wales user group, the winning entry can be seen here. So our first proper competition, after 5 years, with some Max User Group rivalry thrown in!

We haven't had your work presented for some time, so please bring something along to show everyone at the beginning of the evening. Remember, details posted at www.3dslondon.co.uk and on Twitter, follow @3dslondon.

See you there, Simon

Hello everyone,
This Wednesday 5th December- 3ds London Christmas Social! We don't have any speakers planned, but it's good to go. If you'd like to bring along a project to share with everyone, go for it! It'd be nice to see something, but the plan is to enjoy a few drinks with friends for the evening.

I've lined up some great speakers for the begining of 2013, starting Wednesday 6th February. Remember, no event in January, so see you next week to catch up before the holidays.

Full details posted at www.3dslondon.co.uk and on Twitter, follow @3dslondon. If your contact email for the 3ds London evenings is simon at civicart dot com, you need to change it to 3dslondon at gmail dot com.
