Cityscape Digital, Maxwell Render, Foster + Partners & Lenovo @ 3ds London next Wednesday 4th March

3ds London is next Wednesday 4th March, from 7pm downstairs at Truckles.
Nikos Nikolopoulos, CGI Director of Cityscape Digital, will be premiering some of his latest work. Nikos’ presentation last January was great and he’s just written a brilliant article for 3D World, so I’m looking forward to this one! Nikos has been using recently released Maxwell Render V3.1, so I’m happy to say Juan Cañada (Head of Maxwell Render Technology), Victor Gonzalez (CEO) and their team are flying over from Madrid to watch and update the group as well.

Foster + Partners’ Design Communications Team (as oppose to the Visualisation Team, who’s work Gamma Basra presented last September) create a range of artwork from hand drawn sketches, pen and ink drawings through to ephemeral and photo real digital work. Tan Sohanpall and Olga Banaszyk and are going to present some of this work, giving us an insight into the incredible cross section of projects and techniques covered by the team.

Our last speaker, Mike Leach, has also presented at 3ds London before, but a bit longer ago, September 2008 in fact… Mike’s now the Workstation Technologist at Lenovo. Lenovo are the world’s largest PC manufacturer and Mike has 15 years’ experience with workstations, so he’s well placed to get the group up to speed with the latest tech! Mike’s bringing along a slick ThinkStation P Series to showcase but (as with all hardware vendors invited to 3ds London) will keep the presentation non-vendor specific as much as he can bear to!
Did you see The Boundary put their presentation from last month online? Carlos Mazón Godoy also posted the workflow videos he presented here and here for you to check out.
As always, please bring along some work to share or get in touch to schedule a presentation. Check www.3dslondon.co.uk, www.facebook.com/3dslondon, the LinkedIn group, follow @3dslondon or email 3dslondon@gmail.com to get on the distribution list.
Kind regards, Simon
